The Long Game

Adalyn Reyes has built her whole identity around control: a spotless reputation, a rising career in Miami soccer, and a plan for everything. Then a video of her losing her temper with the team mascot goes viral, and the team's owner, who happens to be her father, ships her off to Green Oak, North Carolina, to rehabilitate both her image and the town's hopeless little youth soccer club.

What she finds is not a project she can manage from a spreadsheet. The team is a pack of nine-year-olds who practice in tutus and keep a pet goat, the town runs on gossip, and the one person who could actually help her is Cameron Caldani, a reclusive former goalkeeping star who wants nothing to do with the sport, the spotlight, or her.
