Synopsis

Everything Poppy believed about her life as the Maiden has been torn apart. Betrayed and reeling from revelations about the man she trusted most, she finds herself deep inside the kingdom of Atlantia — a captive, a bargaining chip, and, increasingly, something more complicated. The people here look at her with fear and suspicion, and the golden prince who brought her is not who he pretended to be.

As Poppy navigates a court that may want her dead and a bond she cannot deny, she clings to one purpose: finding her brother, Ian, and learning whether anything she was raised to believe is true. But Atlantia is a land of its own secrets and its own war, and the choices Poppy makes here will determine not only her fate but the future of two kingdoms teetering toward open conflict.

The second book of Jennifer L. Armentrout's Blood and Ash series deepens its world and its central romance, trading the sheltered halls of Solis for a sprawling, dangerous kingdom and raising the stakes on every front.
