When Darcy Merriweather relocated to Salem, Massachusetts, she never expected the Enchanted Village to become home, its magical residents to become family, and As You Wish — the personal concierge business once run by her Aunt Ve — to become her calling. Now she is preparing for another change: moving out of Ve's house at last.

Darcy's belongings are stashed in Aunt Ve's garage, among the clutter of years. There she and Ve make a horrifying discovery: old bones, which Ve recognizes as belonging to her long-vanished second husband. To keep her aunt from facing criminal charges, Darcy must unpack a cold case along with the boxes, and dig into secrets the village has kept buried.
