Synopsis

After the success of her first novel, Samantha Heather Mackey is confronted on her book tour by the Bunnies — the clique of former MFA classmates whose world she once wrote about. Unhappy with how they've been portrayed, they take her captive and, one by one, tell their own version of events.

The novel unwinds the origin of the Bunnies' strange creative rituals and the surreal, Frankenstein-like act of collective invention that bound them together, framed as a dark-academia campus story told from the far side of the friendship Samantha once found so alienating.

Functioning as both prequel and sequel to Bunny, the book keeps Mona Awad's blend of literary fiction, horror imagery, and fairy-tale logic, viewed this time from inside the group Samantha used to watch from the outside.
