Synopsis

A wave of brutal, mutilated murders shakes Vigo and its surrounding areas one Christmas season, and the inspector leading the Criminal Investigation Brigade's central station soon realizes he is facing a form of evil that is excessive, grotesque, and leaves no room for redemption. Each new crime scene deepens the puzzle, until the case forces him to confront an unsettling truth: the victims, and the killer behind them, are not who they first appear to be.

Pedro Feijoo builds a fast-paced Galician "novela negra" — a hard, at times violent, but also emotional and thoroughly unpredictable thriller — told in short chapters and populated by characters driven as much by rage as by fragility. As the investigation races against the clock, the story pushes past a straightforward manhunt into a darker study of cruelty and moral ambiguity, building toward a twist that recasts everything that came before it.
