Synopsis

At eighteen, Tate Jones takes a two-week trip to London with her grandmother and falls hard for Sam Brandis, an older traveler she meets at the hotel. Over the holiday they share everything, and Tate confides the secret she guards most closely: she is the estranged daughter of one of the world's biggest movie stars. When that secret reaches the press, her trust is shattered and the romance ends in betrayal. Fourteen years later, Tate has built her own career as a rising actress and lands her first major film role -- only to discover that the screenwriter on set is Sam, the man who once broke her heart. Forced into daily proximity, she must navigate resurfacing feelings, her fraught relationship with her famous father, and the question of whether the person who wronged her could have had a defensible reason. Told largely from Tate's perspective across two timelines, the novel weighs forgiveness, the cost of fame and privacy, and whether trust can be rebuilt once broken.
