Synopsis

Exiled to the penal colony of Australia, Captain Will Laurence and his dragon Temeraire must navigate a harsh new frontier far from the front lines of the Napoleonic Wars. When a valuable dragon egg is stolen, the pair leads an expedition across the unforgiving Outback to recover it. They soon discover that the desert holds dangers more immediate than the political schemes they left behind in England.
