Synopsis

In 1549, lawyer Matthew Shardlake travels to Norwich to investigate a brutal murder involving a distant relative of the young Lady Elizabeth. His arrival coincides with Kett's Rebellion, a massive peasant uprising that forces Shardlake to choose between his legal duties and the desperate cause of the commoners. As the city falls into chaos, he must navigate a landscape of shifting loyalties and bloody conflict to find the truth.
