Tintin en Amérique
Tintin heads to America to investigate organized crime, but his arrival in Chicago is met with immediate danger. Kidnapped and targeted by powerful gangsters, he must use his wits to escape and uncover the truth behind a dangerous diamond smuggling ring. Join Tintin and Snowy as they navigate the treacherous underworld of 1930s America.
The story was originally serialized in black and white starting in 1931 and published as a book in 1932, but it was later redrawn and colorized in 1945 to match the style of the rest of the series.
Hergé consulted Paul Coze's book L'Histoire des Peaux-Rouges to inform his depiction of Native American communities, while his editor pushed for the inclusion of the Chicago crime syndicate to reflect contemporary headlines about organized crime.
