Synopsis

Melody March had a future mapped out, and on her fifth wedding anniversary it collapses. Her husband dies suddenly, and his heart goes to another person. Grieving and worn down, she contacts the man who received it and joins a support group for people who have lost someone.

She wants to get back to the bright, optimistic woman she used to be. What she does not expect is Parker. He is dark, brooding and emotionally distant, nearly her opposite, and she is drawn to him anyway.

The book is a standalone contemporary romance with a slow build. Melody is the sunny one and Parker the grumpy one, and the story leans on second chances, healing through love and a found-family thread. As the bond between them deepens, secrets surface that unsettle what each of them believed about love and loss. The tone is angsty and emotional, with a happy ending.

The stakes are personal. Melody has already lost one heart, and the man who carries her husband's now has the power to mend her or to break her again. Expect a heavy, tender read that spends its time on grief before it offers hope.
