The Water Takes

Pam is a stubborn, seventy-something widow struggling with failing health and isolating herself from the world. Her quiet life is disrupted when she is suddenly tasked with caring for Charlotte, an anxious ten-year-old girl. But as the two begin to form an unlikely bond, a series of sudden, catastrophic floods begins to swallow their neighborhood. With the waters rising and society collapsing, they must flee their home together and navigate a dangerous, waterlogged landscape to survive.
