Synopsis

Fitz Silver is Silver Island's golden boy, a billionaire who keeps his business clean, his private life private, and every promise he makes, infuriatingly so. He is a perfect gentleman in public and something far less restrained behind closed doors, as Jennifer Stone learned during one scorching summer night in his bed. To Jennifer, that makes him less a fantasy than a problem. A self-described risk-taker and rule-breaker, she never wanted more than a bit of vacation fun, yet that single night knocked her sideways and left him impossible to forget. Outside her job as a high school principal, Jennifer is not known for her good decisions, so when a chance encounter throws her back into Fitz's orbit, she knows better than to end up in his bed again. She plans, once more, to walk away from the maddeningly unforgettable man and the surprising connection between them. Then two pink lines change everything. Set on the sandy shores of Silver Island, their story follows a straitlaced golden boy and a free-spirited wild child forced to reckon with an unplanned future, and with feelings neither of them went looking for.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I read The Trouble with Flings as a standalone, or do I need to read the series in order?

You can read The Trouble with Flings on its own. It is book 2 of The Silvers at Silver Island, one of the interconnected sub-series in Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom collection, and every Love in Bloom book is written as a standalone with its own complete romance and a guaranteed happily ever after. Reading the series in order simply lets you follow the extended family as familiar characters reappear across the books.

  • Who are the main characters in The Trouble with Flings?

The Trouble with Flings follows Fitz Silver and Jennifer Stone. Their romance is the heart of the book, set among the big, close-knit families Melissa Foster's readers return for.

  • How steamy is The Trouble with Flings?

The Trouble with Flings is an open-door contemporary romance, so it pairs its emotional story with on-page love scenes. Readers who prefer sweeter, closed-door versions can look for Melissa Foster's clean-language editions published under her pen name, Addison Cole.
