Synopsis

A 1964 collection gathering eight of Isaac Asimov's classic robot short stories — "Robot AL-76 Goes Astray," "Victory Unintentional," "First Law," "Let's Get Together," "Satisfaction Guaranteed," "Risk," "Lenny," and "Galley Slave" — alongside the complete novels The Caves of Steel and The Naked Sun, in which detective Elijah Baley and his robot partner R. Daneel Olivaw investigate murders on a future Earth and the robot-built world of Solaria. Spanning stories written across two decades, the collection traces the development of Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics and the recurring cast of U.S. Robots roboticists, including Susan Calvin, Powell, and Donovan. Some later paperback printings reprint only the eight short stories, without the two novels, under the title "Eight Stories from The Rest of the Robots."
