Synopsis

At eighteen, Artemisia Gentileschi faces public humiliation after accusing her painting teacher of rape. To escape her reputation in Rome, she arranges a marriage and moves to Florence with her new husband, Pietro Stiattesi. There, her artistic talent flourishes, leading her to become the first woman elected to the Accademia dell' Arte. However, she grapples with balancing her marriage, motherhood, and burgeoning fame, embarking on a lifelong quest to reconcile her passion for painting with her personal life.
