Synopsis

Time has passed since the adventures recounted in The Magicians. Quentin, Julia, Eliot, and Janet are now the rulers of Fillory, the magical kingdom of their childhood reading. But the wondrous sometimes turns dark. And serious incidents disturb the peace of the royal castle. An oracle of death and destruction falls upon the enchanted land. Riddles and threats lead Quentin and Julia on a new journey. The quest that awaits them takes them back to America, their country of origin, through Brakebills School, to Venice to encounter a dragon, and plunges between worlds and even into the afterlife. Will the seven golden keys save Fillory? And might the greatest mystery not lie with Julia herself, whose discovery of magic followed a dark path?
