Synopsis

Raised in the Sanctuary, a brutal training camp for the Redeemers' war against the Antagonists, Thomas Cale and his two companions Kleist and Vague Henri are sent on a mission that forces them to confront the true cost of the conflict. As they navigate a world of religious zealotry, political intrigue, and brutal warfare, Cale's growing skill and conscience make him a target of both sides. The novel's morally ambiguous portrayal of both factions' leaders and their methods, the gritty and tense atmosphere, and the ambiguous ending elevate it into a work of dark epic fantasy.
