Synopsis

In Cordelia's London, five Maker families weave real magic into what they craft: the Hatmakers, Bootmakers, Watchmakers, Cloakmakers and Glovemakers. Cordelia has grown up learning her family's trade from her father, Prospero, hunting rare ingredients and pressing wishes into felt and thread.

When Prospero's ship is lost at sea, Cordelia's grieving aunt and uncle throw themselves into a royal commission for a Peace Hat, meant to end a war before it starts. Cordelia won't accept that her father is gone, and when the commissioned Peace items start disappearing, she realizes someone is working against the Guild itself — and that whoever it is may know what really happened to him.

A warm, wildly imaginative adventure about family, courage and the magic of not giving up.
