Synopsis

After surviving a family tragedy, Rachel, the daughter of a Danish immigrant and a Black G.I., is sent to live with her strict African-American grandmother in a racially divided city. As she navigates a new community and grapples with her biracial identity, a mystery surrounding her last morning on a Chicago rooftop begins to unfold.
