Synopsis

After her only daughter, Amy, dies in her crib, Emily takes up running as a way to cope with the grief — believing only the speed of her own body can outrun the pain. Her husband, Henry, dismisses her need for distance and suggests a trial separation, and Emily leaves for her father's secluded home on Vermillion Key, a remote island off the coast of Florida. There, she finds a strange peace in the isolation and the rhythm of her daily runs, until she crosses paths with Jim Pickering, a man who has been quietly hunting and trapping women for years. When she becomes trapped in his house, Emily must use the very thing that has become her sanctuary — her speed — to outrun him in a desperate final chase.
