Synopsis

The Conjurer is the third book in Luanne G. Smith's Vine Witch series, published in January 2021, following The Vine Witch and The Glamourist.

Sidra did not murder her husband, but even a jinni cannot wish away a wrongful imprisonment. Determined to clear her name, she returns to her adopted home — a French village famous for its perfume witches — with her friends Elena and Yvette beside her.

Waiting for her is Jamra, another jinni, who wants more than revenge for his brother's death. He carries centuries of grievance against the mortals who have bound and used the jinn, and when he learns that an ancient relic capable of loosing chaos on the world lies in the hands of his sister-in-law, he resolves to destroy Sidra to take it.

A historical fantasy of magic, vengeance, and a sisterhood that holds under pressure, set in an early-twentieth-century France where witchcraft is an ordinary trade.
