Synopsis

In 1944, a group of Jewish guerrillas known as the Avengers emerged from the Baltic forest to join the Russian army in liberating Vilna, Lithuania. Led by the charismatic poet Abba Kovner, these rebels fought alongside other partisan groups, even bombing their beloved city to pave the way for its freedom. After the war, with Europe still reeling from the Holocaust, the Avengers conceived a daring plan for revenge, smuggling enough poison into Nuremberg to target ten thousand Nazis. This is the story of their fight in the ghetto and forest, and how they ultimately forged new lives while fighting for the State of Israel.
