Synopsis

Having clawed his way to his first real advancement, Lindon leaves the narrow world of Sacred Valley behind and steps into the far larger and more dangerous land beyond it, where sacred artists many times his strength are common and ancient ruins spill out treasures worth killing for.

To keep climbing, Lindon takes up the rare craft of the Soulsmiths, who forge weapons and tools from spirit and madra itself. But new skills mean new rivals, and he soon finds himself hunted by a whole sect of far stronger opponents, forcing him to rely on wits, alliances, and every scrap of power he can scrape together.

The second Cradle novel widens Will Wight's world and raises the stakes, as an underdog keeps finding footholds in a hierarchy designed to leave people like him behind.
