Hiroyuki Takei (武井宏之 Takei Hiroyuki) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime Shaman King. His brother, Hirofumi Takei (武井宏文) is also a manga-ka.

Synopsis
Shaman King Omnibus 1 collects the first three volumes of Hiroyuki Takei's manga. High schooler Manta Oyamada is stunned when a new transfer student, Yoh Asakura, turns out to be a shaman who can see and speak with spirits. Yoh's ambition is to become the Shaman King, the sole medium permitted to commune with the Great Spirit and reshape the world, a title contested once every five hundred years in the Shaman Fight. As Yoh trains with his samurai ghost partner Amidamaru and squares off against rival shamans with their own agendas, Manta is drawn into a world where the living and the dead fight side by side.
