Ring
When four teenagers die at the same moment, in the same inexplicable way — one of them his own niece — Tokyo reporter Kazuyuki Asakawa cannot let it go. His investigation leads him to a lonely rental cabin and an unlabeled videotape, and to the curse recorded on it: whoever watches has exactly one week to live, unless they perform a "charm" that the four dead teens erased before Asakawa could learn it. As his own week counts down, he races to trace the tape to its source — and to Sadako, the vengeful psychic behind it. The Japanese horror novel that launched a global phenomenon.
The reporter racing to break the curse before his own week runs out.
