Synopsis

Nicolas von Bingen and Alex von Hemmerle, German aristocrats and lifelong friends, find their peaceful lives shattered by the rise of Nazism. A hidden Jewish heritage forces Nicolas to flee to America with his sons, leaving behind everything they know. Their only hope for a new beginning lies in a precious gift from Alex: eight purebred horses, including two magnificent Lipizzaners, which become their stake for the future in the Ringling Brothers Circus.
