Synopsis

Stephen's god died on the longest day of the year, and he has been a broken man ever since. The Saint of Steel's paladins were once berserkers held in check by their god's power; without him, that power is gone, and Stephen now serves the Temple of the White Rat, waiting for the day his own rage finally gets the better of him. Everything changes when he saves a fugitive perfumer named Grace from a bungled assassination attempt. As they are drawn together into a widening conspiracy of spies, poisoners and a killer stalking the city, Stephen and Grace must learn to trust each other -- and themselves -- amid danger, dark humor and an unexpected romance. Paladin's Grace is the first book in T. Kingfisher's Saint of Steel series.
