Three years into his hero career, Saitama has never lost a fight, but nobody recognizes him because he isn't registered with the Hero Association. He and Genos sit the Association's hero exam, launching Saitama on a very different, very underwhelming kind of career as a licensed but low-ranked hero.

Volume 3 of One-Punch Man leans into the series' running joke: overwhelming power counts for nothing without paperwork. Saitama's deadpan reactions to bureaucracy and public indifference sit alongside Genos's earnest devotion to his mentor, continuing the blend of superhero spectacle and workplace comedy that defines the early volumes.
