A Novel Love Story
Eileen "Elsy" Merriweather has weathered heartbreak and loneliness by escaping into Quixotic Falls, her favourite cozy romance series — a comfort made bittersweet by the fact that its author, Rachel Flowers, died before writing the final book. Then, lost on a road trip, Elsy drives into Eloraton, New York, and slowly realises the impossible: she has arrived inside the unfinished series itself.
Eloraton is perfectly, eerily frozen. The candy shop's taffy is always sweet, the bar's burgers are always a little burnt, and rain always falls in the afternoon. Its residents live their half-written stories on a loop, waiting for their happily-ever-afters. The only person who doesn't fit is a grumpy, mint-eyed bookstore owner named Anders — the one character Elsy can't place, and the one person determined to stop her from finishing the book.
