Synopsis

Emma Goldman's 'My Disillusionment in Russia' offers an eyewitness account of Russia from 1920 to 1921, following the 1917 Russian Revolution. Originally a longer manuscript, the book details Goldman's growing dismay with the Bolshevik State, culminating in her critique of the Kronstadt rebellion and Vladimir Lenin's New Economic Policy. This complete edition presents an impassioned left critique of the Bolshevik Revolution and Marxian theory, which Goldman found to be a 'cold, mechanistic, enslaving formula.
