Synopsis

Emma Goldman's "My Disillusionment in Russia" offers an eyewitness account of events in Russia from 1920 to 1921, following the 1917 Russian Revolution. Goldman, initially sympathetic to the revolution, expresses her dismay at the suppression of individual freedoms and the mechanistic nature of Marxian theory, particularly after the Kronstadt rebellion.
