Synopsis

Rupert Carsington is devastatingly charming, perpetually reckless, and currently imprisoned in Cairo. Daphne Pembroke is a brilliant, widowed Egyptologist whose brother has been kidnapped and who needs muscle, not manners. She strikes a bargain: her intellect for his brawn. What starts as a strictly professional arrangement to rescue her brother and locate a legendary lost treasure becomes an escalating battle of wills as danger mounts in the Egyptian desert — and the line between partnership and passion blurs. Book two of the Carsington Brothers series; won the 2006 Barclay Gold Award and was a RITA finalist.
