Synopsis

In a quiet Skåne village, an elderly couple is brutally murdered, with the dying woman's last word pointing to a foreign perpetrator. Soon after, a refugee center burns down and a Somali refugee is killed, escalating tensions and fear. Inspector Kurt Wallander must confront a ruthless killer and the rising tide of xenophobia to solve these interconnected crimes.

Henning Mankell

Henning Mankell was born in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of a judge. He grew up in the towns of Sveg and Borås. His grandfather, also called Henning Mankell (1868–1930), was a well-known composer. At the age of 20, Mankell was the assistant director at the Riks Theater in Stockholm, and he was also writing.
