Synopsis

Paralegal Amanda Jenner is tired of attracting all the wrong men, so she takes charge of her love life the only way she knows how: through meticulous research on the art of seduction. Waxed, polished, and armed with a plan, she picks a masquerade bar crawl as the anonymous stage for her reinvention. Entertainment attorney Mick Bad lives by two unbreakable rules, never mix business with pleasure and never do relationships, and the anonymity of a masked night out makes it the perfect place for a single, no-consequences encounter. When Amanda lands a tall, magnetic, masked stranger, she thinks her plan has worked perfectly, until the mask comes off and she realizes she has been kissing her off-limits boss. Mick has already crossed a line he cannot uncross, and one taste of Amanda leaves him wanting more. His solution, a no-strings lesson in seduction with a strict rule that Monday changes nothing, quickly slips out of his control. As the arrangement blurs into something neither planned, Amanda and Mick discover that the terms they set cannot contain what is growing between them.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I read Mick as a standalone, or do I need to read the series in order?

You can read Mick on its own. It is book 1 of Bad Boys After Dark, one of the interconnected sub-series in Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom collection, and every Love in Bloom book is written as a standalone with its own complete romance and a guaranteed happily ever after. Reading the series in order simply lets you follow the extended family as familiar characters reappear across the books.

  • Who are the main characters in Mick?

Mick follows Mick Bad and Amanda Jenner. Their romance is the heart of the book, set among the big, close-knit families Melissa Foster's readers return for.

  • How steamy is Mick?

Mick is an open-door contemporary romance, so it pairs its emotional story with on-page love scenes. Readers who prefer sweeter, closed-door versions can look for Melissa Foster's clean-language editions published under her pen name, Addison Cole.
