Synopsis

Mary Anne and the rest of the Baby-sitters Club find themselves in the middle of a local mystery when strange things start happening at the Stoneybrook Public Library. After a fire breaks out and books go missing, the girls must work together to find the culprit before their favorite community spot is ruined. It is a classic middle-grade mystery about friendship and taking responsibility for your town.

Ann Martin was born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey. She graduated from Smith College in 1978 with a double major in psychology and elementary education. She worked as a teacher and then an editor of children's books. Her first published book was Bummer Summer (1983). She is best known for her Baby-sitters Club series of children's books.
