Synopsis

Lifel1k3 opens on an island junkyard under a sky that glows with radiation, where seventeen-year-old Eve builds robot gladiators to survive. When the fighting bot she spent months building is smashed to scrap, Eve is left owing money to a local gangster, unable to pay for her grandfather's care, and hiding a secret even she doesn't understand: she can destroy machines with her mind.

Eve's discovery of Ezekiel, a startlingly human android known as a "Lifelike," upends everything she thought she knew. With her best friend Lemon Fresh and her scavenged robotic sidekick Cricket, Eve treks across glass deserts, fights unkillable machines, and infiltrates fortified megacities, chasing a truth buried in the cybernetic implant where her real memories used to be.

The first book in Jay Kristoff's LIFEL1K3 trilogy, this is a fast, violent dystopian adventure blending robot combat, memory-loss mystery, and android romance, continued in DEV1AT3 and concluded in TRUEL1F3.
