Synopsis

After the sudden death of the reigning Pope, a reluctant and unexpected candidate is elected to lead the Catholic Church. This new Pope, a former Ukrainian cardinal, faces immense pressure and challenges from within the Vatican and across the globe. He must navigate political machinations, religious dogma, and personal doubts while attempting to modernize the ancient institution and address pressing world issues.
