Synopsis

Inspector Maigret arrives in a coastal town where a prominent citizen has just been shot outside a local cafe. As more members of the same social circle are poisoned or go missing, a stray yellow dog and a silent vagrant become the only clues. Maigret has to look into the town's history to find a motive for the sudden streak of violence.
