Synopsis

The Last Battle draws near, and across the world long-delayed reckonings finally arrive. Perrin makes a ruthless bargain and risks everything to break the Shaido and recover his wife. Mat brings his strange courtship of the Seanchan heir to a head while leading his band through a running fight. Egwene, a prisoner inside the White Tower she means to reunite, wages a quiet war of will against the woman who rules it. Rand, hardening toward the confrontation he was born for, moves against the Forsaken and pays a heavy price. The eleventh volume of The Wheel of Time is widely seen as a return to form after the series' slower middle books, resolving several long-running threads and quickening the pace toward the end. It was the last volume Robert Jordan completed before his death in 2007, and it sets the board for the final confrontation between the Light and the Shadow.
