Kaiju No. 8 ②

The Defense Force's final exam has ended, but Kikoru Shinomiya's trial is not over. A mysterious humanoid kaiju revives a neutralized honju and sets it loose on her, and just as she reaches her limit, Kafka rushes in to help. Kafka continues to struggle with concealing his own transformation into a humanoid kaiju, an ability that emerged after the incident in Volume 1, and he does his best to suppress it even as danger keeps forcing his hand. A new threat also surfaces from within the kaiju-corpse cleanup crew, Kafka's former workplace, in the form of another humanoid kaiju whose intentions are far less benign.
