Synopsis

In 1850, an educated man and his stoic Scottish servant move into Chapelwaite, a decaying mansion on the outskirts of Preacher's Corners, Maine.

What begins as a project to restore the house slowly unravels into something far darker: local legend speaks of a sinister history tied to the land itself, and beneath the floorboards lies an old book bound in human skin containing forbidden knowledge.

As Charles becomes obsessed with deciphering its contents, he and Calvin are drawn toward Jerusalem's Lot — a deserted settlement nearby that no one dares enter. What they find there is not merely ruin, but something ancient and hungry waiting to be awakened.
