Jaded

Jaded is the debut novel by British author Ela Lee, published in 2024 by Simon & Schuster. It follows Jade, a high-achieving lawyer and the daughter of Korean and Turkish immigrants, in the aftermath of a sexual assault by a senior partner at a work event.

The novel is a searing, contemporary examination of consent, workplace power dynamics, misogyny and institutional silence, alongside an intimate portrait of biracial identity, generational trauma and a fractured relationship with heritage and family. Lee interrogates how systems and relationships pressure a survivor into doubt and silence.

Widely praised on release, Jaded was named an Amazon Best Fiction Book of the Year and Ela Lee a Spotify Breakout Author.
