Synopsis

Indira is the third and final novel in Spanish author Santiago Díaz's Inspector Indira Ramos trilogy, following El buen padre (2021) and Las otras niñas (2022). Published in Spain by Reservoir Books in 2023, it won the Premio Alicante Noir that same year.

Inspector Indira Ramos is coming off the most turbulent year of her career: she has captured a criminal long presumed dead, lost a member of her own team, and had to choose between two men in her life. Now she and Inspector Iván Moreno are called to investigate a string of bodies uncovered at a construction site. The victims seem to have nothing in common, and the case forces Indira's unit — subinspector María Ortega, agent Lucía Navarro, and newcomer officer Jotadé — to dig into each victim's past to find what connects them.

Told as a choral novel that gives nearly as much weight to its ensemble of detectives as to the crime itself, Indira builds toward a case that will either bring Indira and Iván together for good or separate them forever, ending the trilogy on a note reviewers have called divisive but impossible to look away from.
