Synopsis

Alanna continues her quest to become a knight, still disguised as a boy. Now a squire to Prince Jonathan, she must protect him from a dangerous sorcerer, even if it means revealing her true identity. This second adventure in the Song of the Lioness series follows Alanna as she navigates danger and her own destiny.

Tamora Pierce (born December 13, 1954, in South Connellsville, Pennsylvania) is an American author of fantasy fiction for young adults, best known for her Tortall novels beginning with the Song of the Lioness quartet (1983–1988). She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and was awarded the Young Adult Library Services Association's Margaret A. Edwards Award in 2013 for her lasting contribution to writing for teens.
