Dr. Emily Drake is a psychotherapist whose patients are not the usual clients. She treats vampires with blood phobias and sex-demons who want lasting relationships. Her practice runs on one firm rule: never trust a shifter.

Then Detective Colin Gyth is assigned to work with her on the case of the Night Butcher, a killer who is murdering people. Colin has gold-flecked eyes and a predatory manner, and Emily is startled by how much she wants to let go of her control around him.

Colin has his own problem. He is a wolf shifter, and the doctor beside him is the one person able to expose what he is. Their attraction grows fast, and it pulls the wolf in him to the surface.
