Fox Fires Volume 1

In a world drawn from Finnish folklore, the Fox Fires (the Northern Lights) let souls visit their loved ones across the boundary between worlds. When they disappear without warning, Raate, a young raccoon dog, journeys north to track down Repo, the mythical fire fox believed responsible for the lights, meeting a menagerie of talking animals and unexpected allies along the way.

Emilia Ojala builds this webcomic-turned-graphic-novel around Finnish myth and folklore, using Raate's quest to explore themes of nature, friendship, and growing up.
