El Verdugo de Gaudí
When a burning body is found hanging from the facade of Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera, just days before the Pope is due to consecrate the Sagrada Família, Barcelona's police are left with no leads. Inspector Milo Malart — sidelined by a disciplinary case — is reinstated to the Homicide unit to help crack the case, and the evidence quickly convinces him the city is facing a serial killer whose vendetta has only just begun.
Dismissed at first by his own department, Milo watches his theory confirmed as further murders, each staged around one of Gaudí's landmark buildings, pile up across the city. In a race against the clock, he is willing to sacrifice almost anything to stop a killer determined to leave Barcelona littered with bodies before the consecration.
El Verdugo de Gaudí is the first novel in Aro Sáinz de la Maza's Milo Malart crime series, later adapted by Netflix as Ciudad de sombras.
