Synopsis

In the chilling aftermath of the 1973 Chilean coup, air force pilot Alberto Ruiz-Tagle exploits the brutal dictatorship to launch his twisted vision of the New Chilean Poetry, a multimedia spectacle involving sky-writing, torture, and photo exhibitions. An unnamed narrator, haunted by Ruiz-Tagle's sinister presence, becomes obsessed with tracking the man he believes is the silent architect of evil under Pinochet's regime. This novel offers a corrosive, mocking look at a dark period in history, blending terror with a unique, unsettling humor.
