Jeffrey Patrick "Jeff" Kinney (born February 19, 1971) is an American game designer and author of children's books including the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. He is also attributed to be the creator of the children-oriented website Poptropica. Kinney attended Pittsburgh high school in Pittsburgh and currently lives in Tustin, California with his wife and two sons Will and Grant.

Synopsis
Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson's Journal tells the Diary of a Wimpy Kid story from the other side of the friendship. Middle schooler Rowley Jefferson starts keeping his own journal after seeing that his best friend Greg Heffley has one. When Greg accuses him of copying, Rowley calls it a biography of Greg instead, before the journal drifts back to being about Rowley's own life: how he and Greg first met, a sleepover gone wrong, a disastrous birthday party, and a supposed ancient burial ground in the backyard.
