Demon Slayer, Vol. 18, subtitled "Assaulted by Memories," continues the climactic Infinity Castle battles at the heart of the series. Tanjiro and Giyu Tomioka are locked in combat with Akaza, the Upper Rank Three demon, and Tanjiro is pushed to draw on the Transparent World, an advanced technique passed down from his father, in order to survive.

In a parallel fight, Shinobu Kocho faces down Doma, the Upper Moon demon responsible for killing her family — a confrontation built on years of buried grief and a hatred she has kept carefully hidden behind her usual composure.

The volume delivers two of the series' most consequential Hashira battles side by side, deepening the backstories of both Tanjiro and Shinobu while raising the stakes of the demon slayers' war against Muzan's strongest servants.
