Cruel Truth

Cruel Truth, the twenty-first Disney Twisted Tale, rewinds Cruella De Vil's story to postwar London in 1953. Anita Weatherby is anxious about school and her academic rival Roger Radcliffe until Stella De Vil, a confident new student, takes her under her wing. Anita is soon modeling in the House of De Vil's fashion show wearing the Weatherby diamond, a treasured family heirloom, alongside a litter of Dalmatian puppies. When the diamond disappears during the show, Anita has to work out who she can trust before suspicion and scandal ruin her family's name.

It's an origin story more than a villain twist, tracing the early friendship between the future Anita and Cruella before it curdles.
